Did you write it? Get credit for writing it on Google+

Some of us contribute to a lot of venues, blogs, websites, etc. But does anyone really know we wrote it? What about in the search engine results when the article comes up and there is no byline? How will people immediately know you wrote it? I have that answer for you.

Do not abuse this.  HEAR THAT? PLEASE – do not think you can put it in all of your templates or have on every page of your site. You can use the PUBLISHER version for that. This is for you who actually write content and contribute to sites.

Add in a smidget of code. It can be at the bottom of your post. If you are comfortable viewing the code source in blogs, WordPress and the like, you can add this at the end:

By: <a href=”https://plus.google.com/117465476555941682843?rel=author”>+Susan Finch</a>

Change the name to your name (leave the + sign so people know what it links to), change the ID to your Google+ id number found in the browser: googleplus-id-locationYou can also have a new target window by adding this:

By: <a href=”https://plus.google.com/117465476555941682843?rel=author” target=”_blank”>+Susan Finch</a>

Now, if you don’t know how to get into the code, you may simply type: By: +Susan Finch and then select the +Susan Finch (your name) portion and insert a link: https://plus.google.com/117465476555941682843?rel=author
