AI is everywhere today. Whether you want to use it or not, that’s up to you, but creating a business involves confronting AI. AI-generated content is everywhere right now. The problem? Most of it sounds exactly the same. Readers are scrolling past generic posts faster than ever because they can instantly tell when content lacks personality, experience, or an actual point of view.

You’ve built something real; here’s how you keep it

Here are a few ways to avoid becoming part of the AI blah blah:

First: read it out loud.

If it sounds robotic when spoken, it will feel robotic when read. Smooth, conversational writing almost always performs better than overly polished corporate language.

Second: cut the filler.

AI loves extra words. Your audience doesn’t. Shorter, clearer content is usually stronger content. Quality engagement over quantity posting is what builds professional relationships.

Third: stop playing it safe.

Generic advice disappears into the feed. Share an opinion, explain your reasoning, and sound like someone with real experience instead of a textbook summary.

Fourth: remove overused AI phrases.

Watch for lines like “In today’s rapidly evolving landscape…” or starting every post with “Great question!” or “Excellent point!” Most readers tune these out immediately.

Fifth: add specific examples.

Real stories, lessons learned, and firsthand observations instantly make content more engaging and believable. Avoid vague platitudes, “they say” type of content. How do YOU feel about it, relate to it? What story led you to that conclusion or observation?

Sixth: ask yourself one question.

Would YOU stop scrolling to read this? If not, revise it until it sounds useful, interesting, or unmistakably human.

AI can help your marketing move faster — but your voice is still what makes people pay attention.
